Sophia Ceballos on Her Young Puppy Being Stowed in Overhead Bin on United Flight

For lots of, flying with their family pets is cause for distress. With many having actually spoken out about the threats of animals taking a trip in freight, some choose to bring their family pets on board. However for one family, even that action wasn’t enough to keep their canine safe. As the family headed from Houston to New York City on United, a flight attendant told them to place their pet, Kokito, in the overhead compartment. Catelina Robledo, who was flying with her child Sophia Ceballos, 11, and a toddler, objected as other guests searched in scary. The United worker didn’t give her an option. For more than three hours, Kokito was stashed in badly aerated location. The dog overheated and died.

flight, she and her mom fretted about Kokito. At one point
